O2D2 Pulse-Demand™ Two Person Oxygen System

Overview

The Mountain High EDS O2D2-2G is a compact oxygen delivery device which delivers an altitude-compensated dose of oxygen to one or two users, independently, only when each user inhales. The O2D2 enables pilots—and their passengers—to fly safely and comfortably at higher altitudes while minimizing oxygen consumption through fully automatic, hands-free operation.

Pulse-Demand™ Advantage: More Oxygen Where It Matters

Unlike constant-flow oxygen systems that deliver oxygen continuously—wasting much of it during exhalation—Mountain High EDS Pulse-demand™ technology supplies oxygen only at the beginning of inhalation, ensuring oxygen is delivered precisely when it can be absorbed by the lungs. This targeted delivery improves oxygen utilization, helping maintain better blood oxygen saturation with less overall oxygen consumption. Pilots often experience increased alertness, reduced fatigue, fewer altitude-related headaches, and improved overall comfort, especially during longer flights. By automatically responding to pressure altitude, the EDS provides efficient, hands-free oxygen delivery throughout climb, cruise, and descent—without the need for in-flight adjustments.

Efficiency: Oxygen Only When You Inhale

EDS Pulse-demand™ technology differs fundamentally from “standard” constant-flow systems. The O2D2-2G delivers oxygen only during inhalation, eliminating waste during exhalation and pauses between breaths. As a result, oxygen consumption is dramatically reduced, providing an average oxygen duration two to three times longer than that of constant-flow systems.

Ease-of-use: No Manual Adjustments Required During Flight

Designed for simplicity, the two-person O2D2-2G features a built-in barometer that allows the EDS to calculate oxygen dosing automatically. There are no flow indicators to monitor and no manual flow valve adjustments required as altitude changes—unlike constant-flow systems. A single rotary switch cycles through operating modes, each mode allowing customization to the automated oxygen delivery–from delaying delivery until 5,000 or 10,000 feet, to delivering more generous doses for face masks, night flying, or just personal preference. In every mode, a dose of supplemental oxygen is delivered to each user automatically, only when they inhale.

Light and Compact

The EDS O2D2-2G measures 4.3 × 3.85 × 1.25 inches and weighs just 12.1 oz (343 g) with batteries installed.

Powered by Batteries or External Power

The system supports two users for up to 50 hours on three AA alkaline batteries (up to 100 hours for a single user). A low-battery warning alerts the pilot when approximately three hours of battery life remain. An external power jack allows operation from an aircraft power source, and external audio output alarms can be heard through the aircraft intercom system (ICS).

What’s in a System

A complete system includes the EDS O2D2-2G unit; an oxygen cylinder (choice of low-cost aluminum or composite in a variety of sizes); a cylinder carry case; seat harness; reducing regulator; connection tubing and fittings; two standard cannulas; two flare-tip cannulas; two face masks; three AA batteries; instruction manual; and tote bags.

Note: Cylinders are shipped empty. Systems picked up in person at MH will be gladly filled with oxygen at no additional charge. If you already own a suitable cylinder, you may order the EDS O2D2-2G unit without a cylinder, however a compatible MH portable regulator is required.
