Military Applications
In addition to our general aviation products, Mountain High produces oxygen products for military applications. As developers of key components of the PHODS system (Portable Helicopter Oxygen Delivery System) employed by the US Army Air Warrior program, Mountain High has been a key participant in the creation of lightweight supplemental oxygen solutions for high-altitude missions.

OPC-M2
(Oxygen Pulse Controller)
Overview
The OPC Oxygen Pulse Controller is an oxygen conservation and delivery device designed for military applications. Similar to the EDS O2D1, the OPC measures pressure altitude and breathing patterns and delivers an altitude-compensated dose of oxygen only when the user inhales. Initially developed for the Army Air Warrior program, the OPC, has been adopted by additional defense agencies internationally as a critical component of supplemental oxygen systems for individuals in high-altitude environments. Initially commissioned as part of the PHODS (Portable Helicopter Oxygen Delivery System) project, the OPC meets stringent standards required by the United States Army.
Iterations
OPC-M1 | OPC-M2
The first iteration of the OPC, the OPC M1 (Mark 1), achieved success in safely extending supplemental oxygen duration times for airborne soldiers. Consequently, the OPC M2 (Mark 2) was developed to further enhance the performance and serviceability of the OPC system, with improvements designed to simplify its use and maintenance.
VRC
(Valve-regulator Combo)
& Cylinder
Overview
The VRC Valve-regulator Combo creates a compact access point for the OPC. The VRC acts as both valve and regulator, opening and closing the flow of oxygen to the OPC as well as lowering the pressure of the outbound oxygen to a level appropriate for dispensation. Whereas valves and regulators are typically distinct components, because the configuration of the oxygen components does not vary (as might consumer products) the VRC eliminates unnecessary connections to simplify operation while conserving weight and space. The minimized dimensions of the VRC couple with a compact cylinder which enables oxygen storage to integrate directly into field apparel.
Service
For OPC units in need of service and maintenance, OPC units may be sent directly to Mountain High. Mountain High can perform any necessary service and maintenance for both the OPC M2 and the legacy OPC M1.
