The ALPS microphone is an amplified and buffered noise-canceling electret-condenser type. It is built into our custom housing for the ability to be fitted into the ALPS mask as well as many other civilian-type face masks. The mask uses the U173/U connector that plugs into a military-style delta receptacle. The aircraft end connector is the standard PJ-068 or MIL-DTL-642/5B and can be fitted to any type of aviation-style fixed- or rotor-wing microphone connector.
For the ALPS mask we use the David Clark M-7A electret microphone. The M-7A microphone enables pilots to fly with safety and comfort, with clear crisp voice communication. The M-7 is the most advanced noise-canceling microphone available. It has a frequency response for voice (300 ~3 KHz) per RTCA DO 214.
The optional (not included) shielded coaxial cable is standard issue at ~1 meter long. (PN AMSK0-0109-00)
